L&R authors longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award

Four Lutyens & Rubinstein authors have been longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award 2020. Claire Fuller’s BITTER ORANGE, Robbie Arnott’s FLAMES, Amy Sackville’s A PAINTER TO THE KING, and THE PLOTTERS by Un-su Kim. The awards are the most valuable annual prize for a work of fiction in English and the novels are nominated by libraries from all over the world. The shortlist will be announced in April 2020, with the winner revealed later that year. The full longlist can be viewed here.

Her pen name is taken from Alice Thomas Ellis’ Other Side of the Fire, which is unfortunately and scandalously out of print. One of the funniest bits in the book is the bodice-ripper that one of the characters is writing and the female - who slays the men with one toss of her raven locks and one glance from her fiery green eyes as she strides among the glens, faithful wolfhound by her side - is Amaryllis! And the name just seemed to suit so here we are.
