L&R Authors Longlisted for 2019 CWA Daggers

The longlist for the 2019 Crime Writers Association Daggers has been announced and we’re thrilled to see Mark Billingham,John Harvey, and Ray Celestin on the list! The CWA Daggers have been held annually since 1955 and celebrate quality British crime writing. Mark Billingham has been nominated for the Dagger in the Library, John Harvey’s BODY AND SOUL for the Gold Dagger, and Ray Celestin’s THE MOBSTER’S LAMENT for both the Gold Dagger and the Sapere Historical Dagger – congratulations! The full longlist can be viewed here and the shortlist will be announced this summer.

Her pen name is taken from Alice Thomas Ellis’ Other Side of the Fire, which is unfortunately and scandalously out of print. One of the funniest bits in the book is the bodice-ripper that one of the characters is writing and the female - who slays the men with one toss of her raven locks and one glance from her fiery green eyes as she strides among the glens, faithful wolfhound by her side - is Amaryllis! And the name just seemed to suit so here we are.
